Murcia

The wineries and vineyards of Murcia are located all around the region which is on the Southeast part of Spain and are organized into three Designations of Origin: DO Jumilla, DO Yecla and DO Bullas. As for the GI Vinos de la Tierra, there are those of Murcia and Campo de Cartagena.

The most appreciated wines of this single-province autonomy are the red wines made from Monastrell, the emblematic grape of Murcia's wineries. Other authorised grapes are Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot (red varieties); and Airén, Macabeo, Merseguera, Pedro Ximénez or Malvasía (white varieties).

In the DO Bullas, which is the youngest, the Muscat of Alexandria and Muscat of Small Grain are also allowed, in addition to encourage the search for quality through the experimental vine of new varieties that point to a great future.
